The stinging nettle is just one of the genera classified under the family "Nettle Family." About 45 species of this genus are found in Europe. Since habitat, soil quality, and the type of nettle are crucial for growth, the various shrubs reach sizes ranging from 10 to 250 centimeters. Their small and often unnoticed flowers are usually pale white, sometimes light purple. People enjoy the relatively young shoots and, depending on their age and freshness, use them in salads, spinach, or even delicious cheese. A brewed nettle tea tastes typically herbaceous with a slight hint of spinach.
